Recycling
Greenville and other municipalities offer curbside recycling programs for residents inside town limits. Pitt County operates 14 collection and recycling centers and one solid waste transfer station located on Allen Road. The county recycling office is housed there. Phone: 902-3350. Fax: 830-4690.
The collection sites are open April-October from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sunday 2-7:30 p.m.; November-March 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sunday 2-6 p.m. The transfer station is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday and closed Sunday. A $39 per ton fee is charged for non-residential waste. Collection sites are:
